The Dutch mezzo-soprano Christianne Stotijn has been chosen for the opening concert because of her stunningly beautiful voice. We are particularly looking forward to a song written especially for her by the Dutch composer Fant de Kanter, which she will perform solo. Stotijn will be accompanied by the renowned English pianist Julius Drake and will also sing, among others, Romances by Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff, songs by the Dutch composer Henriëtte Bosmans, and two songs by Ravel based on Hebrew melodies.
