Julius Drake and acclaimed English tenor Mark Padmore performed a highly original program at the Palau de a Música Catalan, Barcelona.

In the review for Opera Wire, Jonathan Sutherland called Drake’s piano playing “puissant” and “memorable”.

“The unlikely combination of Schubert lieder in the first half with songs by Benjamin Britten in the second actually worked well, principally because of the excellence of the performers” – he continued. “Padmore displayed his brilliant narrative skills with Drake’s valuable contribution. It was a must-hear performance.”
