Concert in aid of The Hospice in the Weald.
Canadian baritone Gerald Finley is joined by collaborative pianist Julius Drake in a stunning programme of Germanic and Russian art song. The first half focuses on Beethoven and Schubert settings of Goethe, including Schubert’s breakout version of “Erlkönig.” The second half features songs and romances of Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff–literature that displays the beautiful traditions of Russian song-writing.
